 What are city hall office hours?

City Hall is open Monday & Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  as well as Tuesday & Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

 Does the City of Hauser provide water or sewer services?

No, the City of Hauser does not provide water or sewer services.  Hauser Lake Water Association manages the water system and they can be reached at 208-786-0670..

 Do I have to license by business with the City of Hauser?

Yes, the City of Hauser issues business licenses annually.  Please click here for an application or stop by City Hall.

 Do I have to license my dog?

Yes, your dog does have to be licensed. The City issues yearly or three year dog licenses.  To qualify for altered fee rates, you must provide a veterinarian’s Spay/Neutered Certificate. The form is available here and the cost is $5.00 per year if you dog is spayed or neutered and $15.00 per year if they are not.  Proof of rabies vaccination is required.

 How do I request copies of city records?

Please fill out a Public Records Request Form and email it to the City Clerk at  or come into City Hall and complete one.

 How do I tell if I live in City limits or not?

You can click here to see a map of Hauser.  You can also look at your property tax assessment and if you parcel number starts with an X then you are in the city limits of Hauser.

 How do I file a complaint?

If you would like to file a complaint you can fill out a complaint form by clicking here or going to our forms section on the website. You can email it to our City Clerk at or drop it off at City Hall during business hours.

 Who do I call to report a lost or found dog?

Kootenai County provides animal control for the City of Hauser and surrounding area.  Please contact them at 208-446-1300.  Additional information is available on their website here.

 Does the City of Hauser manage Hauser Lake Public Beach?

No, Kootenai County Parks & Waterways Department manages Hauser Lake Public Beach.  You can reserve the covered picnic area by for your special events or parties.  Do I need a permit for a recreational fire?

No, recreational fires are allowed (no more than three feet in diameter and two feet high in fuel).  If you would like to apply for a burn permit click here.
